Counselling / Psychology / Mental Health

Kinesiology / Athletic Therapy

Kinesiology is the scientific study of human or non-human body movement. Kinesiology addresses physiological, biomechanical, and psychological dynamic principles and mechanisms of movement. Athletic Therapy is our one on one or group exercise sessions targeted to help you achieve your fitness goals. Our team will keep you motivated by supporting you through your exercises.

Respiratory Therapy montior and cares for clients with breathing issues. This can include Sleep Apnea testing, Sleep Apnea Treatment, Spirometry and more! All Respiratory treatments and testing requires a referral.

Clinical Nutrition Counsellor

Dr. Michael Handman Psychologist, PhD

I am a Clinical Psychologist with 35 years of experience working in hospitals, university and currently only in private practice. I worked overseas in pediatric oncology and in a Pain Clinic. As the Director of the Psychology Department at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, I helped cancer patients and their families; I supervised graduate students and was involved in published research. I achieved the level of Clinical Professor of Palliative Medicine at the University of Alberta. Following my departure from the Cross Cancer Institute, I worked at the University of Alberta Hospital in the Burn and Trauma units. I developed a keen interest in medically related problems and their psychological impact. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families. I continue to enjoy supervising Provisional Psychologists. My expertise focuses on Health Psychology, Psycho-oncology, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, grief, anxiety and relationship issues. I am very flexible and laid back in my style. I am client centered and work with empathy and respect for the client. I individualize the techniques I use to fit the needs and issues of the client. As the owner of Da Vinci Wellness Centre and Mona Lisa Medical Spa, I also serve as the President of Edmonton Echolab and am a practicing Cardiologist in Edmonton. I started my clinical practice 15 years ago. After finishing my Cardiology training, I joined the Misericordia Hospital and the Mazankowski Heart Institute as an attending Cardiologist.

In 2013, my partners and I opened Edmonton Echolab which was dedicated to provide state of the art, community-based cardiovascular testing modalities to community members. This venture soon graduated to become a fully functional Cardiology clinic offering a home for patients with various heart conditions to monitor their heart health.

Over the years, I came to the realization that it is not enough just treat patients acute illness, but as medical experts, we need to promote wellness and wellbeing as well. Last year we opened Da Vinci Wellness Centre with the aim to promote both physical and mental health and well-being in a collaborative way.
